Salt Lake Track Club Winter Series Race details:

5K-January 26, 10K-February 9, 15K-February 23, 2008
All races start and finish at Saltair, exit 104 on I-80.

The courses are not certified, but accurately measured. I've run them and was very impressed with the degree of details SLC Track Club people put into making sure the course was accurate and properly marked. Essentially flat with some minor rises and corresponding drops, no grade more than 1% anywhere. You can go pretty fast, good place for an honest PR. My 5 K and 10 K non-aided course PRs were set on those courses. If it does not snow, you'll rock on speed. If it does, you'll rock on mental toughness and get commando points from Brent.

Strongly recommended to all who can get there. Even if you are running Striders, it is still a good idea to run at least some of the SLC series races as well if you can make it.

We need a babysitter for the 15 K. Sarah wants to run it. If somebody not running the race but planning to be there for support could watch our kids, or if you could convince somebody to come for support and to watch our kids, we'd appreciate it.  For those who do not know this yet, we have five children - Benjamin (9), Jenny (7), Julia (5), Joseph (3), and Jacob (1). The kids are not going to run the race, but can be taken for a run while you are watching them. We will bring the double stroller for Joseph and Jacob, and the rest of them can run. Benjamin ran a 10 K in 45:38, Jenny in 53:06. Julia's mile PR is 8:41, and her regular training pace is somewhere in the 10:00 - 11:00 mile range. I can take the double stroller as soon as I finish.

Sasha and Sarah,  The babysitting would have worked perfectly for me at the 10K.  I'm sorry we aren't able to come up to this one tomorrow.  I would have loved to help you out and run with your kids!  Hope you find the help you need and you can both run the race!
